This event is primarily for ages 3-7 but we always welcome everyone!
The mission of our Poetry contest is to instill in children an appreciation for poetry and writing and to draw attention to National Poetry Month which occurs every April. Main Street Books poetry contest is open to all students currently in grades 1-8 with three divisions: Grade 1-3, Grade 4-6, Grade 7-8.
The theme of this year’s poetry contest is “Joy”!
Grades 1-8 entries should be handwritten legibly and no more than one page long with a maximum of two columns on the page.
Whether you're a new hand at writing or an old pro; whether you enjoy exploring our world or the ones of your imagination then the Main Street Books Writing Group is for you! Come and join us while we explore and devlop our creative and literary talents with selected readings from inspirational books on the craft that we all love. We meet every other Friday at 7pm right here in the store!
Come and enjoy Storytime at Main Street Books on Mondays and Wednesdays. Join us for songs, rhymes and interactive rhymes and stories. We have a 10:00 storytime for ages birth - 4yrs. and an 11:00 storytime for ages 4+. All ages are welcome to both half hour story sessions. See you here
