MINOT’S HOLIDAY TRAIN
For 13 years now the Holiday Train has made its way through Minot to collect food and money for local food banks. Each year the train`s 14 rail cars are decorated with hundreds of Christmas lights, topped off with a live musical performance. Organizers said the event typically attracts around five to six thousand people. Mike Lovecchio with the Canadian Pacific Railroad said out of the 1100 communities they travel to, Minot is one of their favorite stops.
"It was a challenging summer here in Minot as everybody knows and we are looking to help out anyway we can as your friends and neighbors here in Minot," said Lovecchio.
All donations raised stay in the Magic City. The train will roll into the Main Street Rail Road Crossing at 7:15 p.m. on Friday December 16th.
Enjoy this Christmas, and the things that matter most! Main Street Books will be closed! Happy Holidays!

Pledge your support for Small Business Saturday®
The 2nd annual Small Business Saturday® is
a day dedicated to supporting small businesses
on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year.
On November 26, we’re asking millions of Americans to shop small at their favorite local stores and help fuel the economy. When we all shop small, it will be huge!
Main Street Books will be donating 10% of the proceeds this day to the Minot Housing Authority to help with provide low income housing in Minot. With the rising rents in the community the MHA is losing many of its funding reach and we feel that this is a great time to help out those who can't afford higher rents due to the devastating flood and the influx of oil and construction workers to our community. (No Frequent Buyer Credits will be given, however you can redeem old credits on this day) in the store on Small Business Saturday and don't forget our Hot Cider, Coffee and FREE gift wrap. Join us and support your local economy!
