Children's Events

Do you like books? Do you like getting your hands full of glitter and glue? Do you like juice boxes and fruit snacks? Well, who doesn't?

If you said Yes, Yes, Yes, to all of the above you would love to come down to story time this Sunday for a wonderful story, a messy activity and a refreshing snack.

We might do something with a camping theme . . . s'mores maybe? Ghost stories, maybe? Who knows. We are so disorganized around here we never know what we're doing until the last minute (not really, we just change our minds once in a while -- like if we can't figure out how to do s'mores without burning down the building).

Anyway, be there, be here, and we'll have a great time planned.

Hey kids, join us for story time with Celia.

We have plans to do some fingerpainting (Celia loves to fingerpaint, what can I say?) and if we don't fingerpaint we might just nosepaint or feetpaint or earpaint. Chances are, though, we will be using our fingers.

The event is free and we always have a snack and one or two or three great books to read.

Back by popular demand our Decorate Your Own Cupcake Event with a Mother's Day Theme . . .

The cupcake bar will be open from one to three and so belly up, choose a cupcake, some toppings, a favorite child (or two or three or more) to decorate with and go at it.

 Hey dad's . . . while mom is busy decorating cupcakes feel free to browse, pick out a gift card, take advantage of our free gift wrap.

Hey mom's . . . give us your Mother's Day list and we'll help dad pick out the perfect book (or two) for you on that list.

Hey kids! Have fun decorating and eating your cupcakes. When is kid's day, anyway? Well, if you don't know the answer to this one I just don't know what to tell you.

Join us on Mommy's Day (Yes, Mommy's Day) for story time with Celia . . . as we celebrate mom's in our very special way to include a craft project for mom and two wonderful stories about that wonderfull, selfless, woman in our lives.

We always include a snack in our Sunday Story Time and a beverage and of course everything is free just because we love to hear the laughter of children as they play here at Main Street Books.

Join us as we read all about our favorite person in the whole world --MOMMY!

We well make an "I Love You" kind of mommy gift and we will, of course, have snacks to go along with our Sunday afternoon.

We will be winding down our April story time's with a special tribute to April Showers - - - Bring May Flowers! At least, today it sounds like a good idea!

Anyway, it will be the perfect day to do a planting activity and if it's not flowers it may be something else just as wonderful and grand to welcome in the merry, merry month of May. May Day. Mother's Day. May Pole. Mother May I.

The story time is geared toward ages 4-7, but all ages are welcome and a beverage and snack will be supplied.

Thanks for coming. Thanks for making our Sundays bright and filled with laughter (yeah, sometimes crying -- but mostly laughter). Your kids are great!

I wish I had a picture of Celia to put here. If I did she would look like a cross between a loveable lab puppy, Mother Goose, and your favorite babysitter with a splash of sparkly glitter.

Anyway, she is all these things and more and she loves kids, telling stories and doing crafts. And she is here EVERY SUNDAY to share her loves with your kids.

This April we will be doing Poetry and Earth Day activities to celebrate National Poetry Month and Earth Day.

Story time and activity is geared toward ages 4-7, but all ages are welcome. A snack will be provided.

Our apologies . . . Mrs. Pages will not be able to make the puppet show due to a serious neck/back/shoulder strain/pull needing bed rest and powerful pain medication.
