Join us every Sunday for a little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your . . . No, wait!

Join us every Sunday for STORY TIME! Yeah! That’s it!

We will have a story, a snack and an activity. And it’s all free. If you want to go ahead and sing a song, or dance, or throw some seltzer down your . . . That’s okay too. Because it is all about having a good time, getting away on a Sunday afternoon and meeting some new people -- and meeting some new books.

Story time is geared for ages 4-7 but all ages are welcome. And best of all -- everything is FREE!

This is a great way to introduce your kids to your local bookstore, as well as a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and to meet new parents and families in the community.

Join us Tuesday and Friday Afternoons in July as we create something new.

Our events are a way to help provide some activities for children who have been displaced by the flood and will immediately follow the FREE COOKING classes at Gourmet Chef (call 839-8928 For More Info on Cooking Classes).

Today we will make a necklace or bracelet out of your own one original beads that you make by using some cool stickers on the beacs -- does that make sens? Well, it doesn't exactly make sense to me either because I haven't seen the bead sets yet but Melissa & Doug is donating the kits and whatever they recommend is usually just guaranteed to be GREAT!

We are asking for Children ages 5-12 to sign up (call 839-4050 or in store sign-up) prior to each event and -- depending on the turnout -- one free event per child.

Today we will make YOUR OWN ORIGINAL ONE OF A KIND RUBBER DUCKY -- Everyone will say "WOW! Where'd you get that cool rubber ducky." And, in fact, it will be so cool you won't want to hide it in your bathtub. You might want to put it on the mantle or on the front porch or any other place where the rubber ducky can scream "Look at me! Look at me!" If, in fact, Rubber Duckies could scream that is definitely what yours would say.

Today we will plant a Peanut Garden -- bet you didn't even know you could plant peanuts, did you? (Well, maybe you did because Main Street Kids are just about the smartest kids in town). If you have peanut allergies, we recommend you skip this one and sign up for any of the other events that don't involve peanuts.

Today we will decorate our own Yo-Yo's or Spinning Tops (your choice)  -- Paint, sticker, color and construct your way to artistic enlightenment and escape . . . or just make a yo-yo or spinning top (also your choice).

Today we will make colorful rainsticks -- whose history is as cloudy as a stormy day. Some believe the natives of Chile and Ecuador used these instruments to call down the rains, that the Incas used these as tubular rattles, or that they originated in Africa.

Whatever the origin of the original rainsticks, Main Street  Books will be using them as a wonderful opportunity to socialize and be creative.
