The writing was just so good. From the beginning to the end of the book it was much like life-- lots of trials and tribulations and suddenly we are all older and wondering "what now?" This book left me feeling that there is a whole lot of answer to that "What now?" and my life -- even as I near the age of 60-- can be just as exciting and full of adventure as it was in my 20's. It really made me happy which is, after all, exactly what I needed when I read this book. It's always great when books can give you those answers. This one did.

I loved this book. Read it in almost one sitting. This is a feel good book about a fictitious band in the late 70's told in a fresh and inventive way. Almost reads like a Rolling Stone interview- told in the voices of the band members. I was especially delighted when a club that I used to frequent in the late 70's and early 80's in Cotati CA was mentioned -- "The Inn of the Beginning." It brought back some great memories and it was so hard for me to believe that this wasn't non-fiction it felt so real.
